How the league does not review a blatant charge is beyond me.
If that was Ovi.... |

And Mark Stuart got away with a $2,500 fine for an illegal hit on Friday night against Johansson.

I said it on another blog earlier, but until the NHL replaces the one-man poopshow that is Shanahan with a panel of multiple people, there will continue to be no consistency. |

The worst part about this one was the fact that Shanahan didn't even mention anything about a headshot.

There is no consistency because there are no defined rules. The whole process is completely subjective, and therefor will NEVER be consistent. Sit down with a board of governors and create distinct rules around these hits. At this point I don't even care what they are. 2 games for a board, 3 games for a hit to the head. Whatever. Just make them so fans and players KNOW WHAT THEY'RE GETTING INTO and it's not a guessing game every time. |

I hate Shanahan pressers when he explains his decisions. It's like watching my 6th grader practice an oral book report. |

I'll bet your 6th grader has a better delivery -- Shanny's had one too many headshots it seems. |

That's about the time Shanahan dropped out of school to pursue hockey, so, that would be pretty accurate. |

You don't need rules to make consistent judgment calls. A precedent is set, and you go off that. It's not rocket science here, when one player gets 2 or 3 games for a blatant charge (Torres), another one should get the same look (Bogosian.) |

You start to do that, and then you will see fewer penalties called on the ice. Referees will be hesitant to make a call because if they call a guy for boarding, and it turns out it wasn't, the player will still end up being suspended regardless, and the public heat is on the referee. The last thing you want is officials deciding the fate of a player when it comes to suspensions.
I like the idea of a panel, but it depends on who is on it, and who selects the members. |

here is a thought... the league wants Washington (OVIE) or the Jets in the playoffs and not Buffalo.... Shannan is a puppet for someone and it is a JOKE |

I'm still trying to figure out how Skinner only got 2 for his "kicking" incident. That was a really bad thing to do. To me, that's so much more blatant than what Myers did. I also feel it's more dangerous, being that he's kicking someone in the leg while wearing a razor blade on his foot. But hey, I'm just a fan, what do I know? |

Stupid move -- San Francisco is ready to win a Super Bowl with that defense, o-line and running game. |

Okay, can we please stop acting like everybody has it against Buffalo? The front office is against us. The refs are against us. The broadcasters at NBCSN are against us. It makes us sound like whining babies with a massive inferiority complex.
The inconsistency has nothing to do with "fixing" things. It has everything to do with stupidity. The sooner everyone realizes that, the better off everyone will be. |

There is no way that two egos like Manning and Harbaugh could coexist. |

What about Elway and Manning ? I know that Elway isn't the coach, but he gets more sideline facetime than Denver's actual coach. |

As long as Elway isn't trying to run the offense, Manning won't have a problem with it. It would be no different than Bill Polian. Manning is going to want to run that offense. Harbaugh will want a say in things, but that's just not how Manning has ever operated. |

Yeah they are looking great. Now they are dangerous even if they fall behind. Before Tebow had 0 chance of pulling a team back from 2 TD deficits. |
